Similar bathymetric measurements were carried out on Most Lake in Czechia.

As a part of the RAFF project, scientists from the “Poltegor-Institute” performed a series of bathymetric measurements on Lubstów Lake (Lubstów final pit). The measurements were performed using an Ohmex SonarMite BTX Echo Sounder with a Transducer with accuracy up to 2,5 cm. Based on the obtained results, the reservoirs’ geometry has been modelled and then compared with the original, assumed model.

Geometric changes in slopes and bottoms of post-lignite pit lakes strictly depend on the time of their water coverage. Another observed issue is an influence of waves on slope stability.
