POLTEGOR-INSTITUTE for many years has been conducting research and technology development works for the needs of open cast mining of lignite and rock materials, extending these works into other industry branches. Organizational structure of the Institute is divided into inter-disciplinary teams of workshops which are strengthen with access to 13 laboratories. As a result, they are able to conduct research and technology development works in different fields. They are collaborating with leading scientific institutions in Poland (Technical University of Wroclaw, University of Wroclaw, Mining Academy in Cracow, Central Mining Institute in Katowice), abroad (EPA-USA, EU INCO-Copernicus Fund), and industry (Siemens-Germany, Schneider Electric France).

POLTEGOR-INSTITUTE employees have many years of experience in conducting various RTD works on behave of numerous domestic and international customers providing them with results of original research projects, innovative technologies, expert opinions, specialized services, and manufacturing of customized devices. We are successfully developing cooperation with partners from Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, Ukraine, and India. In Poland we are collaborating with all major institutions that shape the needs of open cast mining industry and develop modern technologies. List of our domestic partners include all lignite mines (Adamów, Belchatów, Konin, and Turów), manufacturers of mining equipment (FAMAGO in Zgorzelec, FUGO in Konin, FAMAK in Kluczbork), design offices (SKW in Zgorzelec, Poltegor-Project in Wroclaw), rock quarries and cement plants. Activities related to protection of environment are important area of our interest Open cast mining companies, from its nature, have destructive bearing on environment. That is a challenge for our Institute, which strives to make mining activities beneficiary not only for market and society but also for environment, minimizing environmental threats occurring during exploitation of mine and after mine closure. Specialist conducted a large number of environmental reclamation projects restoring the degradated areas.

POLTEGOR-INSTITUTE in addition to research & development activity offers technical services in range of implementation of methods, technologies, equipment and customized devices for individual customers, according to the latest tendencies in construction design and functional solutions.

POLTEGOR-INSTITUTE offers also manufacturing services for production of specialized equipment and devices according, to customer requirements and specifications.

POLTEGOR-INSTITUTE has the right of perpetual usufruct to 2089 r. of the real estate in Wroclaw at ul.Parkowa 25 on the lot no. 65/3 with an area of approx. 9809 m2 and possesses the land register kw 94367. The real estate consists of the main building and pavilions that were modernized in the 90s and adapted on laboratories, workshops and office with an area of approx. 5773 m2
