Scope of activities

  • Investigation of the gasification process of raw organic materials (coals with vary carbonization range, biomass, etc.) in module reactor.
  • Laboratory possess module reactor with fully-automated and pressured feeding installation fitted for research with periodic and continuous dosage of gasification media.
  • Working conditions of installation:
- Acceptable pressure level in reactor- 50 bars,
- Maximum volume of gasified material - 90 dm3
- Maximum temperature of continuous operation of reactor- 1300oC
- Gasification medium: air, oxygen, steam, CO2
- Usability of dosage of gasification factors preheated to 300oC
  • Installation is equipped in gas cleaning and conditioning system.
  • Tests of calorific value of organic solid and liquid materials. Calorific values of liquid and solid samples in the measuring range of 0-40000 J

Apparatus and equipment:

  • Pressured module gasification reactor,


  • Flue gases analysis system fitted for on-line gas compounds analysis (Siemens- Calomat 6, Ultramat 23, Oxymat 61)


  • Steam generator,
  • Steam superheater,
  • Heater of gaseous media on feeding installation,
  • Hybrid column for gas cleaning and conditioning,
  • Process controlling system: control unit Siemens S7-300, workstation with visualization and monitoring system SCADA,
  • Measuring and control equipment: K type thermocouples, Pt-100 sensors, electronic gas flow-meter, manometers, etc.
  • IKA calorimeter C 200-System with four different working methods: isoperibolic, dynamic, manual and time controlled. Validation according to DIN 51900,ISO 1928, ASTM D240, ASTM D4809, ASTM D5865, ASTM D1989, ASTM D5468, ASTM E711.
